Can I order by phone?

Absolutely! You may order any merchandise seen on this web site by phone by calling 0427 010 043 during normal business hours (9am-5pm). We’ll need you to tell us the name or the item number for each product you wish to order. Many people simply make a print-out of their shopping cart and use that for reference during the call. You may pay by credit card, cheque or Paypal.

What forms of payment does House of Allure Interiors & Design accept?

House of Allure Interiors & Design uses Paypal secure checkout which accepts all major credit cards including MasterCard, Visa and American Express, for typical shopping cart purchases. We also accept cheque and electronic fund transfer for orders placed by phone. If you do not wish to provide your credit card information over the internet, please call 0427 010 043 and place your order by phone. Although we use a secure web site for order processing, we understand that many people still prefer to speak with a real person before providing sensitive information.

Will I receive an order confirmation?

We send out a confirmation email immediately upon order placement; generally within 5 minutes. This email is an acknowledgement of your order and includes the details of your purchase along with a reference number to assist us when discussing your order in the future. In some cases our order acknowledgement is sent prior to obtaining an authorization on your credit card. If we subsequently have trouble obtaining an authorisation from your bank, we will contact you by phone or email to resolve the problem.

Interior Design Questions

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

My point of difference I won't push you into making decisions you are unsure of. When we are looking at furniture or homewares, I won't push you into buying anything you don't love. My rule is, "If you don't love it, don't buy it" There are too many other fabulous options around these days to settle.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I got my start in the industry as a window treatment specialist. I have extensive experience in the soft furnishing industry and am very adept in combining colours and patterns to perfection. I am also highly skilled when it comes to conveying my vision for a concept using digital software.

How do you normally charge for your service?

I offer both an hourly rate when working on smaller projects, and a flat design fee when engaged to work on larger projects. I also offer design packages to cover most design requests which you can find out more on here.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Tip 1: Sort through some magazines, or on-line websites and start getting an idea of the looks/styles you like.

Tip 2: Tag the magazine, and download pictures, sorting them into rooms/areas in the house.

Tip 3: Decide what furniture/curtains/lamps etc are staying, and what you can live without.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Budget is very important. I need an idea of approximately how much a client is happy to invest into a project. Also, the timeframe- are you in a hurry, or is this something that can just evolve over several months, or longer?

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

Years of experience, a great sense of style, an empathetic nature, and a calm disposition. Our design and decorating experience will be fun, and a great adventure!

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

Probably the most common question is, "What would you choose?" I am always aware that it is your home, and your style that should be reflected when making choices. I generally narrow options down to 2 or 3 choices, all of which would be fabulous, then let my client select the one they like the best.

What do you like most about your job?

The creation of beautiful ambient spaces for people to immerse themselves in. And seeing my clients happy and relaxed in their own fabulous home.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

There is not really just one "customer" story, but rather a series of stories that all involve the creation of wonderful friendships, forming over many happy hours in their homes, sipping coffee whilst pouring over colour charts and fabric samples. I feel very privileged to able to connect like this.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Growing up in a creative family, I was forever drawing, crafting and sewing. Now as adult I find myself being drawn to all aspects of design, whether it be fashion, architecture, landscape or graphic design, I am constantly intrigued and inspired by it all!
