This deeply personal project saw our lead designer turn her attention inward, creating a nursery for her own growing family in anticipation of welcoming a baby girl.

Rather than leaning into overtly traditional nursery tropes, the vision was to create a space that felt warm, sophisticated, and enduring—playful enough for childhood, yet considered enough to sit beautifully within the broader home. The design embraced a rich, nature-inspired palette of warm neutrals, layered greens, and teak timber, creating a sense of calm, softness, and quiet connection to the natural world.

A whimsical jungle mural became the room’s defining feature, introducing storytelling and imagination through lush foliage, playful monkeys, and gentle wildlife. Balanced against this expressive backdrop, the furnishings remained grounded and timeless. A beautifully detailed teak cot with soft architectural lines was layered with a sage canopy, creating a cosy focal point that feels both nurturing and refined.

As with many thoughtfully designed spaces, practicality was approached creatively. A pre-loved dresser sourced second-hand was reimagined with a deep green finish and updated brass detailing, transforming it into a bespoke-feeling change station—an intentional nod to both sustainability and personal craftsmanship.

Comfort was equally important, with a versatile nursing chair selected to support the quieter rhythms of early parenthood—from late-night feeds to story time and slow afternoon cuddles.

Soft layered window treatments brought both functionality and softness, while a durable washable rug grounded the space with texture and practicality, creating a comfortable place for play as the room evolves with its occupant.

The result is a nursery that feels warm, imaginative, and deeply personal—a space designed not simply for infancy, but for the memories that will unfold within it.
