When we were engaged to reimagine this much-loved family home—one that had been cherished across two generations—the brief was as much about honouring its history as it was about shaping its next chapter. While the home held deep sentimental value, the interiors no longer reflected the client’s evolving lifestyle or aesthetic, presenting an opportunity to thoughtfully transform the spaces for modern living.
Our role involved the complete redesign of the kitchen, dining, and living areas, with comprehensive design documentation, 3D visualisations, and detailed joinery drawings developed to guide the renovation. Working closely alongside the client’s trusted trades, the vision was carefully brought to life through a highly collaborative process.
The design direction embraced a moodier, more sophisticated sensibility, layered with rich materials and tactile finishes that introduced warmth, depth, and a quiet sense of luxury. Chocolate-toned timbers, marble, and richly textured textiles formed the foundation of the palette, while seagrass-inspired wallcoverings with subtle mica detailing added softness and dimension to the walls, shifting beautifully with the light.
In the lounge, a custom Roman blind in embroidered fabric introduced a layer of personality and tactility, while the entry was anchored by a bespoke console whose circular detailing created a quiet dialogue with the surrounding mirror, establishing a sense of cohesion from the moment of arrival.
A key priority was thoughtfully integrating the client’s existing timber furniture collection—pieces of quality and sentiment that deserved to remain part of the home’s story. Rather than replacing them, we restored and refinished the pieces, repairing years of wear, while the dining chairs were reupholstered to sit seamlessly within the renewed scheme.
The result is a home that feels richly layered, sophisticated, and deeply personal—an elegant reinvention that respects its history while feeling entirely refreshed for the next generation.
