Our client, a single female occupant in her 50s, recently purchased an 80 m2 property that lacked character and had a masculine vibe. Seeking to personalise the interior spaces to align with her lifestyle and aesthetic preferences, she engaged our firm. Our task was to fully furnish each room with new furniture and soft furnishings.
While the existing flooring was in excellent condition and provided a solid base, we opted to change the wall colours throughout the home to add depth. In line with the client’s request, her bedroom was adorned with a dusky pink feature wall, plush grey carpet, and bed linen featuring oversized floral motifs. To maximise storage in this small space, we included mirrored bedside tables with drawers and a dresser.
The original kitchen had a basic appearance, prompting us to replace the laminate benchtop with luxurious quartz stone. Hexagon marble mosaics were added to the plain white subway tiles to introduce texture. We also replaced the chunky handles with refined nickel ones, lending a touch of Hamptons-style elegance. Custom floating timber shelves were incorporated for open storage, displaying the client’s collection of glassware. Extending into the lounge area, the shelves provided space for decorative items.
In the lounge space, we installed an oversized arched mirror behind a 3-seater sofa, creating a focal point that resembled a window. This mirror not only added wow factor but also set an elegant tone for the open-plan area. Throughout the space, we incorporated soft curves, lush textures, a predominantly feminine colour palette, and brass accents in the furniture, accessories, and textiles.
To showcase the client’s travel photos (including some featuring her cat), we curated a gallery wall along the hallway using gold gilded frames. This personalised touch added a touch of charm and nostalgia to the space. Additionally, a curvaceous console and mirror pairing now greets visitors in the hallway, further enhancing the glamorous aesthetic of the home.
