When our client purchased this compact 80sqm home, it offered good bones but little in the way of warmth or personality. The interiors felt generic and somewhat stark, lacking the softness, character, and individuality she longed for. The brief was to transform the property into a home that felt unmistakably hers—elegant, feminine, welcoming, and deeply personal.

While the existing flooring provided a solid foundation, a complete refresh of the interior palette became central to shifting the mood of the home. Layered colour, softer forms, and richly tactile finishes were introduced throughout, replacing the harder, more utilitarian feel of the original spaces with something far more refined and inviting.

The kitchen underwent a thoughtful cosmetic transformation, proving that impactful change doesn’t always require a complete renovation. Elevated material updates, refined detailing, and the introduction of custom shelving brought warmth, texture, and personality to what had previously been a rather functional, uninspired space. Extending into the adjoining living area, these elements helped create greater cohesion across the open-plan footprint.

Within the living spaces, the design language embraced softness and glamour in equal measure. Curved forms, warm metallic accents, plush textures, and a feminine yet sophisticated palette created an atmosphere that feels both polished and comfortable. A dramatic oversized arched mirror became a defining focal point—amplifying light, expanding the sense of space, and lending an architectural quality to the room.

The bedroom was conceived as a softer retreat, layered with warmth, texture, and subtle romance. Thoughtful furniture selections maximised functionality within the modest footprint, ensuring the space felt both beautiful and practical without compromise.

Perhaps the most personal layer came through the integration of the client’s own story. Travel photographs—including treasured images featuring her beloved cat—were transformed into a curated gallery wall, introducing nostalgia, personality, and a sense of home that no purely decorative scheme could replicate.

The finished home feels elegant, expressive, and entirely individual—a compact space transformed into something far more meaningful, layered, and reflective of the woman who lives there.
